Happy Valentine's Day... A Rosie Look at Flowers
Let's face it... it's the one holiday he better never forget... and he knows it! But what is it that we women really want to make our lives complete on that most loving day of the year? A straight-forward answer: flowers!
It can't be disputed: shopping for the perfect gift for Valentine's Day usually involves flowers. And whether or not you are going to get a great card and gift to go with them, the best bet, the foundation of the house of love, the perfect choice for that perfect mate has got to begin with flowers.
The type of flowers you give is sort of like a Neilsen Rating of Love. There are lots of beautiful arrangements around but roses continue to be the flower of choice. The higher the cost, the redder the rose, the better the rating! It doesn't matter that these roses were picked three weeks ago and held in storage before being sent to the local florist, Roses continue to symbolize the most special of all gifts from the one who really loves you. But, of course, it isn't that easy!
When shopping for roses, it is important to remember that roses symbolize different things based on their color. The red rose, the most popular by far on Valentine's Day, represents true love and passion. It is the rose that you give to the one special love of your life (at least the one you think is the one special love of your life).
There are a few other colors and selecting these might be your best bet if you are not quite sure about the true love part! White roses represent purity and innocence (often why they are used at weddings) while the yell rose symbolizes the promise of a new beginning and is often given after a fight just for this reason. The peach rose means modesty while the coral rose (darker peach) means desire as does the orange rose. For that secret admirer, the lavender rose means love at first sight while the ever popular light pink rose symbolizes perfect happiness and admiration. Make that pink rose darker and it means thank you.
So it is obvious why the red rose is the perfect gift on that most lovable day of the year but pick your rose carefully so you don't send the wrong message!
P.S. Whatever the flower you finally choose, a helpful hint: shop and order early and send to your lady's work place... its the most popular place for sending flowers!
